In light of recent talks regarding secession of the state of Texas, this petition recognizes the full rights and privileges of Houstonians as citizens of the United States of America. In the unlikely event of Texas separating from our nation, we would like to become an independent state so that we can remain free of the often short-sighted policies and procedures inflicted upon us by the state government.
