We the people of the great city of Houston, Texas are angered that the State of Texas is violating our natural / God-given rights. A woman's right to make choices concerning her body, refusal to expand Medicaid to allow the poor, elderly and disabled to receive health care and the silencing of minority views through state redistricting are examples of this.
As the 4th largest city in the country and one of the fastest growing economies, we are confident in our ability to operate independently of Texas as a member of the United States should Texas secede. It is important for Houston to remain in the union as to do so would would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers.
