With the state that the Union is in currently, California has not fared well. California used to be one of, if not, the top innovators within this country. We are home to 12 of the 20 most inventive towns in America, with 10 of them being in Silicon Valley alone (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB115352188346314087.html). Apple Inc., eBay, Google, Hewlett-Packard, and many more major companies of the Fortune 1000 are headquartered within this region as well. We possess facilities for nearly every major government operation needed to sustain a nation. California also has the 8th largest economy in the world. With all of these factors combined, California is more than qualified to support itself and thrive as its own nation.
