The people of Wisconsin believe the US Constitution is being largely ignored and misinterpreted and that the federal government no longer has proper respect for the concept of federalism. The people of WI agree with Thomas Jefferson’s quote, “When all government, in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the Center of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another and will become as venal and oppressive as the government from which we separated,” and believe his warnings have been ignored. We ask the federal government and the President of the United States to peacefully allow the people and government of the State of Wisconsin to secede from the union.
