We are petitioning the Federal Government to recognize a new state formed out of former counties that currently lie within the State of Maryland.
It has become clear in recent years that those centrally located and most urban counties within the State of Maryland are not able to work with the other more rural counties of the State. As the years have past, the gap has widened as the state legislature has failed to achieve reasonable, and common goals for economic growth, use of natural resources, and public policy (Issues such as redistricting, gambling expansion, Chesapeake Bay clean-up policy).
Therefore we petition to separate as many counties as wish (to be determined by a majority vote of each county's residents), and allow them to absolve their ties with the State of Maryland.
