Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget, recognized as the 15th largest economy in the world and it is possible for Texas to withdraw from the union (maintaining financial stability) it is practically feasible to peacefully make reparations to proven descendants of slaves in the state of Texas. African Americans are the largest racial minority in Texas. African Americans of both Hispanic and non-Hispanic origin make up 11.5% of the population (2.7 million of non-Hispanic and Hispanic origin). This can be achieved by giving reparations in the form of free/reduced real estate, education, medical, legal and financial aid with no taxes levied. This is in keeping with our founding fathers who have acknowledged the travesty that was slavery.
