This petition aims to address the nonsensical idea that, following the reelection of President Obama, it is absolutely necessary for various states to "peacefully withdraw from the nation." This counter-petition serves to remind said states that they are important and historic pieces of the nation, and that most of them could not uphold themselves economically, politically, or in terms of defense and military. Secession, as in the case of the Civil War, was been arguable as the south relied on slaves as an economic backbone. This petition, then, argues that the election of one administration not liked by some and not posing any serious, radical threats to livelihoods in distraught states is NOT a justified basis for withdrawal, and that these states should champion their American roots.
