Performance enhancing drugs are a main focus in sports these days, but fail to emphasize the importance of their use. Nationwide we have sports icons that have been found to use performance enhancing drugs with little or no penalties. If sports continue to allow this without more sever consequences, the integrity of the sport will decline along with the consumer spending that comes with it. Also our youth will continue to look up to these individuals with praise and will start using performance enhancing drugs themselves, further causing health problems for more Americans in the future, along with rising healthcare costs and rising taxes as a result.
