Pell Grant Eligibility

Created by N.H. on March 30, 2013

Changes implemented this fall to the federal Pell Grant include decreasing the number of semesters a student can receive the grant, no longer allowing students without a high school diploma or equivalent to receive the grant.

A recent study indicates the restrictions are having a substantial impact on the poor and one must ask how can a person pay 45k on $10 and hour.

Myself as a student that has almost max out my loan limits the degree I was studying towards was four semesters away. But because of the economic down turn I went to trucking school driving it's not for me. I found out that I can on longer get a pell grant . I think there should be a work study program tied to a student's tuition , And requires thirty hours a week of employment at some non profit. Requires 2.00 GPA
