Many retail companies pay their employees so little that they have to be on government assistance while the company posts continuous profits. I believe that if a company cannot pay free market value for labor without taking money from the government they do not deserve to keep their profits, and any company with more than ten percent of their workforce or twenty employees (whichever is larger) on public assistance should be taxed a share equal again to the wages and benefits of those employees until such time as they can prove they are no longer a burden on highly taxed individuals and productive job creators.
As an example of the problem, in 2011 walmart had more than 40,000 employees on government assistance in Missouri alone.
