Pennsylvania Dirty Little Secret.! PA refuses to raise the State Supplemental Income for the Personal Care Industry

Created by T.T. on May 28, 2014

Legislators in PA refuse to give an increase in the State SSI Supplemental Income to the Personal Care Home Industry. There has not been an increase since 2007. $35 per day per resident has been the value of our care in the County of Philadelphia. It cost more to board a dog than provide adequate care to the SSI Poor Mental Health Resident. When the increase in minimum wage takes effect we will be force to close our homes DPW is aware of this. However, they are reported to saying there is no money in the budget for you and Legislators "Don't Know Who You Are"! My industry have been providing affordable supportive housing for over 40 years to the mental health community. We must increase the State Supplemental Income and bring the Medicare Waiver to PA Now!
