These soldiers, in good faith, signed enlistment contracts that offered them bonuses that they received. It turned out that the recruiters were not authorized to offer these bonuses. They are the ones guilty of fraud and should be liable for the money that the Pentagon wants returned...not the soldiers who did this in good faith. They signed their contracts and fulfilled their duties with honor. The government should honor this and not require the soldiers to pay this back. The soldiers did not defraud the government. They signed legally binding contracts that they honored, so now it is time for the government to honor them as well.
