According to an article published by Time magazine, there are only 350 clinical psychologists serving the entire US Army (of more than 500,000 soldiers). According to many accounts, those clinicians are frequently required to provide substandard care because of the lack of available, qualified practitioners.
This is the very definition of a population at high risk for mental health illnesses and they are (more often than not) injuries sustained in service to the country.
We should conduct an in-depth review of the mental healthcare capabilities of the U.S. Military and work to immediately address any shortcomings discovered during the review.
