Performance Based Pay for Congress

Created by M.C. on February 19, 2013

Use a performance based system to regulate pay and benefits for Congress. The pay for "Representatives" should reflect the average citizens pay. Limit first term congress members' pay to the national average. Increasing salaries only at a rate equal to the rate of inflation/deflation. Thus tying pay to performance. Reduce vacation in the same fashion. Average time off for regular citizens is around ten holidays and ten vacation days. Congress should match this not have half the year off paid.

*Many members of Congress are already wealthy.

*Congress members receive a lot monetary funds from lobbyists anyhow.

*Public service members are suppose to serve the public. It shouldn't be about money.

*Too much debt in the nation. Every little bit helps.
