Permanently implement Daylight Savings Time (DST) in the United States. There is no use in continuing the charade of springing forward and falling backward an hour each year. The reasons that DST was implemented have long been forgotten and surpassed; there is no longer a valid justification to continue it.
Rather than removing DST, permanently implement it so that we continue to get daylight into the evenings as much as possible, thus ending the depressive winter months when you come home from work and it is already dark.
End the dreadful loss of sleep each March, the need to relearn controls on your microwave's clock twice a year, and the cruel week of maladjusted sleep for parents and children that ensues every time this happens.
It's time to make the time change permanent.
