Israel is the only country in the world which has been denied recognition of its choice of location for its capital. This denial contributes to unrelenting efforts by its enemies to deny its right to have sovereignty in Jerusalem, to deny the historic connection of the Jewish people to their holiest city, and to abrogate the rights of Jews, Christians and Moslems alike to practice their religions freely in Jerusalem. Israel's right to exist in the Middle East is tied in to its right to have Jerusalem as its recognized capital. The United States, as Israel's greatest friend and ally, should follow the example of nations like Costa Rica, and finally make good on promises and commitments by Congress and former Presidential candidates, to move its embassy to Israel's capital, Jerusalem.
