Permanently reduce the salaries and benefits of the Executive and Legislative branches due to non-performance

Created by R.P. on December 07, 2012

When our country was founded more than 200 years ago, it was a clear intention of the founding fathers that service to the country as President or a member of Congress was not to be a permanent career. members of Congress were considered to be serving their community by choice, and not as a primary profession. this is evidenced by their pay of $6 PER DAY, which was intended to suppliment their time away from their businesses and to cover costs, and was only payable during days when they were actually present and WORKING. enact legislation to reduce congressional pay to HOURLY, covered only when actually WORKING. reduce Executive Office pay and benefits to BOTH BRANCHES by 50% to reflect that this is a service to the nation, not a CAREER IN SELF SERVICE.
