If the Keystone XL pipeline is constructed, Midwest refineries will pay a higher price for Canadian oil, and that increased cost, passed on to the consumer, will add billions more in fuel costs and higher food costs for Midwest residents.
Tar Sands oil is one of the dirtiest, most carbon-intensive oils on the planet; an atmosphere-polluting oil that will contribute to global warming. But, sadly, increased billions of dollars in corporate hands is worth more than the destruction of the future for our children and grandchildren. Stop the pipeline construction.
