We have no desire to indulge in the tragedy of our fellow Americans. Yet, we must understand the gravity and pain that our current gun policies inflict on the victims and families and friends of gun violence. If we are more clearly confronted with the reality of gun violence, as are families and first responders, including its senseless and unnecessary toll on our country and our citizens, perhaps we can have a more meaningful debate on what we, a free people, should do or not do with respect to gun safety.
Therefore with respect for, and permission from, the families of gun violence, let us see firsthand the reality of our current policies.
