Permit active duty armed services personnel to carry the firearms they have been issued and trained for while on duty.

Created by P.S. on July 16, 2015

We are requesting the repeal of DoD Directive 510.56 that bans military personnel from carrying firearms on any military installation. Section D-1 states "The authorization to carry firearms shall be issued only to qualified personnel when there is a reasonable expectation that life or DoD assets will be jeopardized if firearms are not carried." We now know that any military facility is a target for terrorists. That means any active duty serviceman is in the position of defending life and property on each facility. These personnel are well trained in the use and safety of firearms. To make our best and bravest an easy target for terrorists and others seeking to harm the U.S.A. is a travesty. How can we ask them to defend America but deny them the means to do so in their own country?
