We the people request the Obama administration to extend the legal rights granted by Amendment 2 of the United States Constitution and by the states surrounding our military installations. Currently an order issued during the Clinton administration prohibits most people from carrying firearms on a military installation and only permits military police from carrying. If contractors and military personnel are permitted to carry weapons they would be able to defend themselves against such acts as the Fort Hood shooting or the Washington Navy yard shooting.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans responsibly carry firearms to defend themselves on a daily basis, why not permit this to occur on military installations which could be targeted by our enemies.
