A petition to resume legal importation of Mimolette cheese (currently banned owing to the presence of cheese mites) into this country from France. The presence of cheese mites in the rind of certain types of cheeses is perfectly normal and necessary to the manufacturing process, and does not constitute a grievous hazard to the public. Consumption of Mimolette has been enjoyed by humanity for hundreds of years without harm, and people in this country should be allowed to continue to enjoy it.
