Many young men volunteered to service on active duty and spend 7.5 years in the active and inactive reserves under the Reserve Forces Act of 1955. We nave received Department of Defense recognition for serving our country during the Cold war. Yet, even though many of us cannot afford private burial, we are not allowed to be buried in a national cemetery. The army, in many cases , discharged us 1-2 weeks early so that we would not qualify for service-related benefits, We do bot want to be buried in Potter's Field. Please treat us as you would treat any other service member that has been honorably discharged.
