As the growing number of suicides continue in our military forces it seems unexplainable as to why the Department of Defense will not permit additional Licensed Mental Health professionals to serve in the uniformed services. As of now Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Psychologist, and Psychiatrists are the only mental health professionals allowed to serve as mental health professionals in the uniformed services. This petition is to ask the White House to allow Licensed Professional Counselors to be permitted to aid in helping our uniformed men and women. It seems ridiculous at a time such as this when so many men and women are taking their own lives to limit the amount of qualified mental health help.
