Permit Physicians who have passed USMLE step 2 waiting to match into a residency work as a Physician Assistant

Created by W.H. on November 14, 2012

Us citizens and Permanent residents who have passed USMLE step 1 and 2 and are ECFMG certified should be able to work as Physician Assistants while they wait for a residency opening. The current situation is a shortage of residency positions exist when there is a shortage of physicians in the US. Permitting these Physicians to work as Physician Assistants will ease the shortage and give needed experience to the physicians waiting to be accepted into a residency. No additional training should be needed for this since they are medical school graduates.
