personally take actions addressing the Keystone Pipeline.

Created by J.H. on January 31, 2014

The U.S. State Department's inspector general's reports over allegations of conflicts of interest and the release of the final environmental impact statement related to the Keystone Pipeline are due early February 2014. The President has previously stated that he will not interfere with the State Department's process. However, it has been felt by many that the department has been intentionally sitting on this project. With the recent State of the Union, the President has projected a "year of action". As the U.S. State Department is within the Executive Branch, the President has influence over its priorities. The President should push for an expidited final ruling by the State Department. This petition neither endoses nor opposes the pipeline, but simply requests a decision.
