Persuade Congress to pass a Constitutional amendment stating that the 14th Amendment protects individual human beings.

Created by M.G. on September 23, 2011

Corporations are not people. They are organizations chartered by government that possess legal privileges that individual human beings do not. They are effectively immortal, and not tied to a particular location.

However, due to decades of case law and legal precedent, corporations are considered people under the law. This entitles corporations to protection under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, and gives them the same free speech rights as actual human beings.

This constitutional protection allows corporations to corrupt the political process and trample the rights of individual human beings. The Constitution should be amended to state that the 14th Amendment only applies to actual human beings, and not to corporations or other legal entities.
