Persuade movie studios and online rental companies to make one-day movie rental periods 28 rather than 24 hours.

Created by D.F. on March 21, 2014

When exhausted parents finally settle down after getting the kids to bed and relax with a digital movie rental, they often can't finish the film before sleepiness sets in, especially as movies get longer each year. With a 24-hour rental period, their choices are: stay up late, affecting work productivity and parenting effectiveness the next day; rent the movie a second time, dipping further into their savings; or never find out how the movie ends.

Why should families and hard-working folks be punished this way?

For the sake of families, the economy, and our national cultural literacy, we urge the White House to use its influence to persuade movie studios and digital rental companies to extend 1-day rentals from 24 to 28 hours.

It's what George Washington would want.
