persuade NASA to allow those with geography degrees to be able to become Astronaut Candidates.

Created by C.M. on August 16, 2013

As of right now, graduates who have obtained degrees in geography are not allowed to take part in NASA's Astronaut Candidate program as it is defined by them as a social science. I would like NASA to reverse this definition as geography is not just a social science but a very diverse physical science as well. Geography is not just people and places, geography covers everything including climate and weather, geomorphology, geology, oceanography, along with much more. With how diverse and broad of a subject that geography is, I don't see how different it is from any other physical science and would like NASA to consider allowing those who obtain geography degrees to be allowed to take part in the Astronaut Candidate program.
