We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Petition to abolish or ratify electoral colleges.

Created by K.Y. on November 09, 2016

In the current presidential election, we the people elected Hillary Clinton as president. However, due to the electoral colleges Donald Trump won by a large number. The electoral colleges were created to make a fair voice and at the end of the day make a decision for the good of the people. This is no longer how they work. A state is made up of urban and rural areas. Urban areas are usually democrat, while rural areas are generally republican. Many times the city part may outweigh the rural area and the vote is not necessarily representative of that state. The more populous the state the more electoral votes they have, but these votes cannot be split up to reflect the vote of the citizens. The last time this happened was Bush and Gore, in which Bush's presidency caused a deep recession.
