The United States House of Represenatatives has decided to waste its precious time passing a bill to tie funding of legal fees to defend DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) during this short period to the House, but could not even extend The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). This means that even Gay and Lesbian, Transgender and Bisexual taxpayers have to pay to defend an act that takes away their civil rights, despite the fact that the White house has vowed to not pursue defense of the DOMA as long as he is president. This means a long, drawn out legal battle for universal marriage acceptance, which is a waste of our money, for bigots in the House of Represenatives. Please sign the petition and contact your representative, especially if you are in a state without marriage equality.
