Petition to Allow Greater Numbers of Syrian/Iraqi Refugees entrance to the United States

Created by C.R. on February 22, 2015

The current humanitarian crisis in Iraq and Syria warrants strong action on the part of the United States. The U.S. must not allow innocent civilians deaths when we possess the resources to prevent it. Whatever military or diplomatic action is taken by the United States regarding ISIL, we the undersigned urge the Federal Government of the United States to grant asylum to as many Syrian, Iraqi, and Kurdish refugees as possible. Whatever fears some elements of the general public possess regarding what damage radical elements within these the United States pales in comparison to the human rights crisis within the Middle East. We beg to remind you all of the fate of the many European Jews denied entrance to the U.S. in the 1930s and the resemblance that situation bears to the present.
