We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

Petition to allow New York State to Secede from the Union in order to become a province of Canada

Created by A.A. on November 10, 2016

The election of 2016 should mark the end of all association between New York State and the rest of the United States. New Yorkers are proud of our diversity and the election of a Nativist like Donald Trump as President makes it abundantly clear that its not a value shared by a significant amount of the nation. Furthermore, President Elect Trump has expressed a desire to enact numerous policies that would be detrimental to New York State.

In order to appease President Elect Trump this proposal would grant two concessions. Firstly, upon agreement New York State will immediately extradite Hillary Rodham Clinton and her family into Federal custody. Finally, New York State will allow Staten Island to remain a part of the Union. New Yorkers don't really have a reason to set foot there anyway.
