Banking bailout of 2008 moved $700 billion into the pockets of the financial system that was responsible for the crisis to begin with. It was a combination of ruthless profiteering, and questionable book keeping - most painfully apparent when the million dollar bonuses still kept flowing in spite of 'pending bankruptcies'.
The only way to mobilize the economy is to transfer the bailout funds to the pockets of millions of American families. Our homes, which are upside down in mortgages, must be refinanced at their current market value. The bailout funds used to write off millions of home loans that paralyze the real estate market, and grind the consumer spending to a hault. Force the banks to refinance, forego the upside down home loans, and give us back our daily $5 to spend on ourselves.
