This petition asks that President Obama and members of Congress reduce their salaries to that of the average American and live with the means that we live by daily. The current salaries and benefits far exceed any potential need that could arise and is therefore excessive and is an unnecessary drain on the tax paying citizens of our nation. Budget cuts most certainly need to be made, this suggests that the cuts begin with our nations leaders, thereby setting a proper example to the people they serve. We the people still declare, No taxation without representation.
