We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Petition to Ban Blade Runner 2049

Created by J.H. on October 06, 2016

This petition calls on Congress to order that Alcon Entertainment immediately cease and desist all further work on the film, Blade Runner 2049, the proposed sequel to the 1982 sci-fi masterpiece, Blade Runner. Blade Runner is a science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott, starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos. The screenplay is an adaptation of the 1968 novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. This movie is widely recognized as THE most important example in the genre. The mere thought of making a sequel to the film is morally and artistically reprehensible. NOBODY asked for a sequel to this movie. The fact that questions about the original film remain unanswered are part of what makes it a cinematic masterpiece.
