Petition to bring Federal Charges against Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown.

Created by L.B. on November 25, 2014

Petition to bring Federal Charges against Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown on August 9, 2014. After being cleared of all charges by a Grand Jury on November 24, 2014, Darren Wilson can still be tried for "violations of federal, criminal civil rights statutes." One statute federal prosecutors could invoke to bring charges against Wilson targets individuals who “under color of any law . . . subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.” The death penalty, while rare, is the maximum penalty for this crime
