We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

A petition to call congress to abolish the electoral college and elect presidents based on popular vote.

Created by K.P. on November 13, 2016

On November 8, 2016 more American citizens voted for Hillary Clinton than President-elect Donald Trump. The Electoral College has uprooted the will of the people in two of the last seven presidential elections and the United States Congress should examine and abolish the Electoral College to make elections about the American People's choice. A vote should simply be that, a vote. It shouldn't matter in which state people cast their vote. All other modern and fair democracies use popular vote to elect world leaders and the United States should do the exact same thing. Regardless of political allignment, this measure would make the United States a more perfect union and a stronger democracy.
