A petition to change the name of the highest mountain top in Tennessee from Clingmas Dome to "Pat Summit"

Clingmans Dome is currently named for Thomas Clingman, a disgraced former Senator, one of only 15 people ever expelled from the United States Senate for misconduct under Article I Section 5 of the Constitution.

Pat Summitt has been an educator in Tennessee for years who has consistently brought credit and honor to the State of Tennessee. Particularly as the most successful coach in college athletic history.

As Summit's health declines, we need to find a fitting way to memorialize her life. A summit is a mountain top, and is homophone of Pat Summitt's name. Therefore we propose changing the name of the highest mountain top in Tennessee from Clingmans Dome to Pat Summit.

As the peak lies within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, this requires
