Petition to change the National Motto

This is a petition to change the national motto to one which better reflects the prevailing attitude of the citizens of the U.S. The proposed change is from “In God We Trust,” to “I Got Mine.”
Changes in U.S. political attitudes no longer reflect a Judeo-Christian ethos. Changes in the distribution of wealth, the transfer of U.S. jobs to foreign labor markets to increase profits, the transfer of trillions of dollars into overseas banks and tax havens and the tremendous increase in corporate welfare programs, has created an attitude of national greed. The rise of the Tea Party has encouraged the demonization of women, minorities, workers, the poor and LGBT Americans. “I Got Mine” best reflects our new American ethos and renders “In God We Trust,” outdated, irrelevant and hypocritical.
