Petition Congress to declare Election Day a National Holiday

Created by B.F. on December 11, 2014

Recognizing that the President does not have the power to declare an annual Federal Holiday, but does have the power to petition Congress,

Concerned by the abysmal voter turnout in prior elections (the worst in 72 years, a mere 36.3%),

We the People of the United States of America do hereby petition the President to request that Congress pass a bill declaring Election Day to be a National Holiday for the purposes of increasing voter turnout in what will determine the future of our country.
