Petition Congress to establish Physical Security standards enforceable by the Dept of Education in America's schools.

Created by C.S. on December 21, 2012

Petition Congress to modify the mission of the US Department of Education to include the following statement:

“Establish policies related to minimum physical security measures and procedures of America’s schools and monitor for shortcomings identified through the security audit process. This policy may include the establishment of a school district security management accreditation program, where individuals who qualify work for the school district and with local police departments, school principals, teachers, and staff to develop preventive measures and plans to address threats including but not limited to active shooters, bomb threats, kidnappings, and rumored threats within schools.”

Look to the best practices and procedures from the DODEA Safe Schools program as a possible model.
