Please petition Congress to provide Ukraine a loan of $15 billion in economic assistance to help the country rebuild. We know that Ukraine has recently experienced a massive social and political upheaval. Without assistance from the West (and the US in particular), the state may collapse and could be force-ably reabsorbed into a new Eastern Bloc. Currently, Ukraine is close to defaulting on obligations totaling nearly $15 billion dollars. A loan from the United States would provide the breathing room needed to get the country back on its feet. Think of it as an investment in the future, a later day Marshall Plan.
