The Ukraine has experienced a massive upheaval. The state may collapse and be reabsorbed into a new Eastern Bloc if the West (and particularly the US) do not step in now to provide assistance. Currently the Ukraine is very close to defaulting on various obligations totaling nearly $15 billion dollars. A loan from the United States could provide the breathing room needed to get the country back on its feet.
