In two of the last five Presidential Elections, the Electoral College has not followed the will of The People since the Electoral College results did not agree with the result of the popular vote of US voters. Therefore we need to eliminate the Electoral College, replacing it with a direct vote of the American People. Free and fair elections are the foundation of democracy. The current Electoral College system violates the principle of "one person, one vote" by giving too much influence to people in less populated states as well as to those in "swing states". The best way to know the will of The People is to ask them directly and follow their vote. Studies of the 2000 election show that even awarding Electors proportionally would not fix the problem, so this is the best solution.
