Although rocks go through a rock cycle that last millions of years going from fiery igneous rocks being shot out as hot molten lava from the mantle and then undergoing the weathering and erosive process on the crust of the Earth and then being carried away as sediment that piles for what seems like eons (well maybe it is eons!); only to be compressed and turn into sedimentary rocks that are then crushed and molten by the immense pressure only to repeat the crazy cycle again, rocks can become extinct and completely disappear as the rocks that they were!
Such is the strange case of the endangered jaspilite rock.
