Petition to create the state of South Florida

This is a petition in response to the great upwelling of support to have the state of Florida secede from the union. As South Floridians, we would like to remain a part of this great country. In fact, we would like to see the creation of a new state: South Florida. We feel that the state legislature has abused the income we produce from our tourism industry, distributing it to the more rural parts of the state while letting the more metropolitan parts of Florida suffer. We would like to have our own state to represent both the interests of the tourism industry and the great communities that support them. Let South Floridians decide what is best for themselves.
