Its speculated that motivations of mass murders include notoriety. Acknowledging the First Amendment as a sacred cornerstone of our heritage something extraordinary must be done to stem the tide of these killings.
Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies should be required to wait a predetermined minimum amount of time before releasing to the press the name of any future mass murderer who is either captured or killed during the crime. Prior to releasing the perpetrators name, the press must be discouraged from revealing the perpetrators name. Any organization which receives any communication shall be required to turn over the contents to the government for review prior to public release.
Without infringing on the first amendment, at least attempt to appeal to common morality.
