In Northwest Gainesville a neighborhood has found their land contaminated from the rancid waste excreted by Koppers, Inc.'s old facility. They sold the land and facility and moved away. These families have levels of dioxins in the soil 24,377 times higher than the accepted standard. Copper levels were 18 times higher. One family has a child with a birth defect from a chemical exposure caused by this company.
