Petition for equal consequence between firearm offenders and firearm owners who fail to secure firearms properly.

As we all know, the vast majority of gun violence is done by individuals who cannot legally acquire firearms. Thus, they will steal them from someone who can. It is OUR responsibility to secure our firearms properly, NOT have more "gun control", legislation, or bans on the types of firearms we own as responsible law-abiding citizens. I petition for gun owners who fail to secure their firearms properly to get the same consequences as the person who acquired the firearm from them, and committed the offense. It IS indeed up to the firearm owner to insure the guns do NOT get the the hands of individuals who cannot acquire them on their own. This WILL reduce gun violence through accountability, without infringement to our beloved second amendment. As a gun owner, I will also be accountable.
